RIL Finishing School - equipping for employment

Resource Intermediaries Limited (RIL) has decided to contribute to society in an attempt to be part of the solution to one of several problems confronting youths in Nigeria.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find good candidates for employment in Nigeria. This is, despite the fact that there is increasing demand for them as employers are willing to pay for quality when they see it. Interestingly, the problem is not just with their academic qualifications, which is definitely suspect and inadequate in most cases, but also with their attitudinal, cultural and ethical values, not forgetting basic grooming gaps. RIL having been a Provider of human resource outsourcing service for five years continues to experience this fact each day. The principal reasons for these in our opinion are the erosion of basic moral and ethical values and the declining or collapsed educational system in Nigeria. Most employers or employment agencies would need to sift through hundreds of applicants to find a near fit of 10 out of every hundred.  

Resource Intermediaries Limited has therefore instituted a capacity building program called THE RIL FINISHING SCHOOL to fulfill the following broad objectives:-

  1. To prepare prospective workers for a fulfilling and rewarding career with appreciative quality employers.

  2. To help organisations who desire to improve their existing staff's attitudes, grooming and personal effectiveness on the job and in life in general with a view to instilling these basic but scarce values in such staff.

  3. To equip the lower end of Small & Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs) with the right skills and tools required for sustained growth. The target groups in this third category are SME's with annual turnover less than N24 million, and those desiring to start such businesses afresh.
